General Blog Update

This is just a general blog update.

Firstly, I haven't forgotten about the blog. I do apologise for the lack of updates, however with exams coming up for me as well as a bunch of other things happening, I have just not had the time and/or motivation to update with news. Hopefully after the next week or two I can get back to posting new announcements and other things.

Second, I have updated the pages. I have updated the MLP G4 Blind Bag page with more info for waves 8 and 9, this includes keys and images. I have also (possibly temporarily) taken down the Hello! Project video page. This was mainly due to the amount of work that that page requires to be constantly up to date that I cannot afford to put in right now due to my personal circumstances. I may put it back up in the future with some changes made to it.

Third, most of my 'social media' hasn't been updated in a while (this ranges from multiple days to over a year depending on which account is in question). Don't forget you can find these accounts on my account link pages. I cannot guarantee that any of them have been recently updated.

H!P Videos and MLP Blind Bag Pages

I've finally created an MLP Blind Bag page. It's not exactly complete, however it is about 100% up to wave 7. Wave 8 (and obviously wave 9) are not yet done. However the page is up and ready for use.

I still have to update the H!P videos page as I haven't done that in ages, and it's a little out of date. Hopefully I'll be able to get around to doing that over the weekend.

Morning Musume - I WISH (Updated) Radio Rip

A radio rip of Morning Musume's updated version of I WISH from their new best album has been located on YouTube. Here's the video:

I think it sounds okay. Remember that this is the 9th, 10th, and 11th Generations, so no Sayu, which means they can't really find a reason to autotune any part of the vocals. (If they autotune Sayu's solo Aruiteru I'm going to be very angry, as I like Sayu's voice). Anyway, there's a few notes I'm not too pleased with, and at the end of the original there's something like a stretched out 'yeah' but in this new one it is like an 'oh' and it's a little offputting for me. This one is a lot closer to the original version, unlike the new Ren'ai Revolution 21. On that note, I do prefer the new version of I WISH over the new version of Ren'ai Revolution 21. I'm particularly looking forward to the new LOVE Machine, Sayu's Aruiteru and the new song, Wolf Boy.

This releases on September 25, 2013 in two editions: Regular and Limited.

Through the Mirror Princess Twilight Sparkle Fashion Style

Another of the Walmart exclusive Equestria Girls style ponies has popped up (the original two, regular Twi and Sunset Shimmer aren't posted because I kinda suck (lol)). This time, its the odd-looking Fashion Style Twilight we may have seen a while ago. Here's an image:



She comes rather decorated, like other Through the Mirror line playful ponies AliTwi and Sunset Shimmer, and with clothing. She has what looks like a papery skirt that can be coloured in with the included markers/textas. Seeing as this Equestria Girls themed line is a Walmart exclusive, I'm not entirely sure whether the Through the Mirror line will see a release in countries, such as Australia, that do not have Walmart stores.

There's no known release date for this line.

°C-ute - 23rd Single - Updated to be a Double A-Side

°C-ute's 23rd single, Tokai no Hitorigurashi (Living alone in the city) has been now announced to be a Double A-side. The other songs' titles (the other A-side and two B-sides) have not yet been released. It will be released in six editions, two regular and four limited, much like their previous single, Kanashiki Amefuri / Adam to Eve no Dilemma. It is set to release on the 6th of November.

Wave 9 Blind Bag Ponies found on Taobao!

The next wave of blind bag ponies has been found on Taobao! The theme appears to be similar to that of the upcoming Rainbow Power line, with the blind bag line returning to solid-coloured plastic, not translucent, with colourful designs over the box and bags and the phrase "Collect all 24 to complete your rainbow". Here are some interesting things about this wave:

• No Twilight Sparkle. Potentially because she is no longer a unicorn.
• Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Princess Cadance are decorated much like the 'Fanastic Flutters' princesses from the other day. Nopony else appears to be decorated that way.
• Fluttershy is in her new mold.
• Mr Cake, Nurse Snowheart and some other 'fan favourites' are in this wave.
• Some re-releases such as Big Mac and Noteworthy.
• There's also a pegasus on the front who I believe goes by the name of Tropical Storm.
• The bags, like wave 8, have no seam, and the codes will most likely be letters again.

• Shoeshine and Peachy Sweet appear to have swapped molds (Shoeshine used to be an AJ mold and Peachy Sweet a Pinkie mold but in this wave its reversed)
• I believe Berryshine is supposed to be Berry Punch.
• I am thinking that Sprinkle Medley is another fan-named background pony, Medley, as Hasbro lost rights to the name Medley a while ago as far as I know
• (New mold) Fluttershy, Amethyst Star, Berryshine, Mr. Cake, Sea Swirl, Nurse Snowheart and Sprinkle Medley are most likely characters Hasbro sees to be 'fan-favourite' ponies. Sea Swirl was an early blind bag release (wave 1 or 2), and Mr. Cake and (new mold) Fluttershy are available in packs. Other than those three, none of these 'fan-favourite' ponies have been released in figure form.

Berryz Kobo - Motto Zutto Isshoni Itakatta / ROCK Erotic - MVs on Hello! Station

On the most recent edition of Hello! Station (#32) the MVs for Berryz Kobo's 33rd single, Motto Zutto Isshoni Itakatta / ROCK Erotic have been released:

Motto Zutto Isshoni Itakatta is at the beginning and ROCK Erotic is at 6:24. I personally think the two songs are okay. ROCK Erotic was much different (and probably better) than what I thought it would be. I'm definately not a fan of the outfits in the first MV (Motto Zutto), from the top, most of the look quite nice but then the bottom half, not so much. Miyabi should've had her blazer on for the dance shot, in my opinion. I like the appearance of the ROCK Erotic MV, minus Risako's head accessories. Initially I really didn't like the bunny/rabbit ears, but when I noticed the rest of the accessory the ears were the least of my concerns, as the pattern decoration part on there, it makes it look like something may be wrong with Risako's head. The outfits in this MV however were much better than the Motto Zutto outfits.

Overall, the outfits could have been done better. However, the two songs are nice and I think they may helpp Berryz to regain some lost fans. Motto Zutto Isshoni Itakatta / ROCK Erotic releases on October 2nd.

°C-ute - 23rd Single Announced

°C-ute's 23rd single, currently titled Tokai no Hitorigurashi, has been announced. It is set to be released on November 6, 2013. No other details have been given other than they performed it on Budokan on Monday. A fan recording can be found below:

Anyway, it doesn't sound too bad. I'm not a massive Berryz fan like I am a °C-ute fan, but I don't mind this song. Unfortunately I've noticed that in my opinion, the quality of Berryz Kobo's songs and MVs started to drop off from cha cha SING, but this could be a turning point. I have a feeling that ROCK Erotic is going to be a very sexy-sounding rock style song.

Berryz Kobo - 33rd Single Announced

Berryz Kobo have announced their 33rd single to be another Double A-Side, titled Motto Zutto Isshoni Itakatta / ROCK Erotic. The second song's title sounds interesting. It is set to be released on October 2nd, 2013. Here are the LQ covers:




It hasn't been specified as to which one is which yet and apparently one cover is missing. I am however going to speculate that the square covers are going to be the limited versions with DVDs, and the red, narrow one is either the regular or a limited without a DVD.

Happy °C-ute Day!

Today, the 10th of September, is °C-ute's day. (It's also Skynote's birthday). Every year the band celebrates with a special concert event, usually part of the title is 9月10日は°C-uteの日(September 10 is °C-ute's day). On June 29, 2013, it was announced that this day had been officially recognised by the Japan Anniversary council. September 10 is also 'Sewer Day' in Japan.

MLP: Rainbow Power: Fantastic Flutters Figures

New figures from the upcoming Rainbow Power line have been found, 'Fantastic Flutters' figures to be exact. So far they are Princess Cadance and Princess Twilight Sparkle. They are in they playful ponies Cadance mold, but with what will most likely be large slots in their backs for their wings. They slightly resemble the G1 Flutter Ponies and the G4 Glimmer Wings Ponies. They have other colours in the hair (especially Twi with yellow, Cadance could have some green) and like some other Rainbow Power figures (particularly blind bag ponies, that due to a lack of time are not on this blog) they have rainbow-coloured markings on them. The shape of the boxes is new, and they do not appear to have any other accessories.




There's no word as to when the Rainbow Power line is set to release as of yet.

Morning Musume - Ren'ai Revolution 21 (Updated) Preview

A radio rip of the new version of Ren'ai Revolution 21 from Morning Musume's new best album, The Best! ~Updated Morning Musume~ has been put on Youtube.

I think the instrumental really fits Morning Musume's newer, more electric style, rather than the older instrumental. I can hear Riho and (autotuned) Sayumi really well. There's a few notes I feel uncomfortable with, but that's my opinion. I don't exactly love this new one, and I think many of Morning Musume's older fans may not either. At the moment I'm kinda leaning towards the old version.

New MLP Figures Official Packaging!

Those rainbow-haired ponies (at least some of them) from a while ago have been seen in official packaging! They are part of a new Rainbow Power line. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie are shown here:

So far, only Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Fluttershy have been seen in this packaging. No Applejack or anypony else, who will most likely be Sunset Shimmer, as she was seen unpackaged like these ponies are as well. More under the break!

New Ponies on Taobao!

BronyGalore from the MLP Trading Post has found some interesting ponies on Taobao that could be prototypes of new lines.

There's a bright, translucent Pinkie Pie with multicoloured hair. She kinda looks a bit like the Wave 8 blind bag ponies. There are currently no translucent ponies in G4 availiable (other than blind bags) so she could be part of a new line. However, Hasbro has done some glittery translucent ponies in the regular size before that haven't been released so I'm remaining neutral on this one's status until we find if it hits shelves or not.

Morning Musume - New Best Album

A new best album for Morning Musume has been listed on the Hello! Project website, titled The Best! ~Updated Morning Musume~. No image is availiable at the moment, and it says "NOW PRINTING". I don't know if it has been officially announced yet. The release date is listed for the 25th of September (2013). The is currently no tracklisting, and it will come in two editions, Regular and Limited. The Limited will come with a DVD.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Rooftop Run - Review

A few days ago I finally got onto buying the TMNT game on iTunes, Rooftop Run. It's basically like Temple Run and similar games where you have see how far you can get. However, in Rooftop Run, you have to take out the Foot / Bugs / Kraang (depending on the zone) and collect energy orbs. Energy orbs are very important in the game, as running out of energy will lead to you being taken by a Kraang ship, and filling the energy bar will allow you to access Turtle Time, where if you complete the combos, you will see a zone change and different enemies will appear. Turtle Time is pretty easy, you just have to tap the targets before they disappear, and it gets gradually harder. I think it's six combos in each Turtle Time. Turtle Time also allows you to get more coins.

Skywishes has arrived!

I won a G4 Skywishes on eBay a few weeks ago and she turned up!! She's in almost perfect condition, too, which makes it even better... I'm going to have to fix her tail, as it's being stupid and sticking up rather than just normal and coming out straight. Anyway, she's a toy-only character who is pretty much just a G3 upcycle from a pony of the same name and similar appearance. The only main differences is G4 Skywishes is a pegasus and only has a kite for her Cutie Mark, whereas G3 Skywishes is an earth pony and she has somthing else as well as the kite for her Cutie Mark. I think the 'something else' is a butterfly or butterflies.

Friendship is Magic Season 4 Animatics!!

So by now you should have seen the MLP:FiM S4 Animatics from SDCC. Anyway, they are amazing! In the five minutes of animatics there was a lot of VERY INTERESTING THINGS happening. Anyway, I was excited for Season 4 before the animatics were revealed, and now that they have been revealed I'm really super excited!!

Why I am not a fan of Vinyl Scratch

I decided to make a post about why I do like Vinyl Scratch as the rest of the Bronies seem to. It's gonna be long so check it out after the break!

MLP Mash'ems

So, pics of the MLP:FiM Mash'ems have been released. Their line-up: Alicorn Twilight, Unicorn Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy and Applejack. Hatless Applejack, damnit. Anyway, no Rainbow Dash, they must be crazy not putting Dashie in there. Now, when (and if) they hit Australia, I'll be on a mission to get AJ and Pinkie, as they're my favourite of the six possible finds. Whenever there is something released by a non-Hasbro brand, they always seem to leave out one of my two favourite members of the Mane 6 - Rainbow Dash and Applejack. Yes, there are plushie lines with them both, the Funrise (or Hunter Interactive in Australia) and Aurora (which I doubt will hit Australia), where both have hatless AJ, but the 4DE line has put them into Wave 2 (Dash, AJ, Rarity) and the Funko Pop! Ponies don't have AJ or Rarity instead having Vinyl Scratch (of whom I'm not much a fan) and Derpy (yay).

Anyway, they (the Mash'ems Ponies) all look pretty good. I hope they hit Australia. Also, the Pop! Ponies should hit Australia next month, so I should be able to get Dash and Derpy. The normal Funko Vinyl Ponies have finally hit Australia, however I've only seen them in shops that are a minimum hour drive from my house. Damn.

Trends

I've been noticing recently that bronies in Australia are rather underrated. I don't look at all of the nightly roundups on Equestria Daily, but I've never seen an Australian meetup in one in my past year and a half of being a brony.

I have interacted with other bronies, such as when I went to Supanova last year, a male brony wearing a Big Mac shirt overheard me talking with my friends about ponies, and told us that there would be some pony stuff there, as in the conversation we had mentioned how it would be our first convention and were wondering what sort of stuff would be there. And also, me and a friend met some other female bronies at a Target and between the four of us we were able to scan through the Wave 7 blind bags quickly and efficiently, taking the ones we wanted and leaving the others.

There was a PonyCon in Sydney this year, of course with my luck it wasn't in my state and I was also in the Japan at the time of its happening.

But never have I heard of an official meetup of Australian bronies. Not even in another state. And you may wonder why I decided to make this a topic of my discussion. Find out after the break!

Just a quick note, I've been adding some extra pages to this blog. I haven't quite finished yet, and I may still be making a bunch of edits to them.

One of the pages, the Hello! Project Videos page, is rather YouTube video heavy. Also, I don't recommend it to those not interested in Hello! Project. However, if you would like to listen to some of the newest Hello! Project songs if you want to potentially become a Hello! Project fan, then feel free to look and listen.

Back from Oz Comic Con

Hey, I have returned from my mission at Oz Comic Con yesterday. I got some stuff, but no comics. I got some blind bag ponies and a print of Tank (Rainbow Dash's pet tortoise for those who don't know) signed by some of the people who work on the MLP:FiM comics. The blind bag ponies I got were:
Wave 4 (translucent, glittery):
 - "Special" Metallic Applejack
Wave 8 (neon, Flim and Flam on bag)
 - Lotus Blossom
 - Flim Skim (Flim)
 - Gilda the Griffon x2
The reason I ended up with two Gildas is because I purchased a bag with what I thought was "AF" stamped into the bottom seam, alluding to Flam. However, upon opening the bag, I got a second Gilda, as the stamp was lowered to make "AE" look like "AF". Now, to get Flam, I have to wait until Wave 8 blind bags hit Australia, or the next con that I can get to, whichever comes first.

(Note: "AE" stamped wave 8 bags contain Gilda, and "AF: bags contain Flam. My stupidity also came into this a little bit as I didn't feel the bag like I normally do when looking through blind bags.)

I also purchased some sherbet humbugs which I've eaten the majority of. They came in a nice glass jar though, so I might end up putting some sort of other candies or something in it after I wash it.

And today, I had to go see some of my relatives, which was something I didn't want to have to do, and they live two hours away.

 Also, right now, I'm listening to Chirstmas songs. I don't know why.

Oz Comic Con

So, tomorrow I will be at Oz Comic Con. Yay! I'm gonna try to get issues 1-4 of the MLP:FiM comic books, 5-8. Seeing as I'm almost flat broke, that's probably all I'm gonna buy, other than food, if I buy any.

It's my birthday today! Yay! So, I got some stuff, (actually, lots of stuff) and I thought I could/should/would kinda review the ponies I got. So, in regards to MLP toys, I recieved the Pony Collection Set (virtually a bunch of blind bag ponies in a big box) and the Princess Celestia and Pinkie Pie set as well as the Princess Luna and Rarity set.
